22 October 2024 is the date of the 13th Legal Forum for Practitioners to be held in the Kremlin and organised by the Lawyer System.
Traditionally, legal highlights of the year is the main topic of the legal forum. Heads of legal departments from majors, judges, officials from state authorities and consulting experts will together discuss the changes to the laws and practices this year, what should be implemented into the work nowadays, and how these could be adapted for a specific company.
Andrey Korelskiy, Managing Partner at KIAP Law Firm, will be a keynote speaker in the first session titled "Arbitration Proceedings" on the following topic: "Litigation Amid Sanctions: Russia-Specific Features of Enforcement".
Andrey will recount how the practice of Russian courts is emerging on disputes that involve sanctioned individuals from Russia (Articles 248.1 and 248.2 of the Commercial Proceedings Code of the Russian Federation – "the Lugovoy Law"), about the trends of their application, and what aftermaths of the Lugovoy Law should be accounted for when selecting this tool during dispute resolution.
