The 3rd Kazan International Legal Forum - 2024 (KILF) closed in the capital of Tatarstan last week. It became a venue for lawyers, lawmakers and law enforcers from 27 countries and 5 cities of Russia.
KIAP Law Firm acted as the Forum partner and coorganised the session "Insurance Law: New Trends and Problems".
Andrey Korelskiy, Managing Partner of KIAP Law Firm, was the panel moderator.
Maria Krasnova, Partner of KIAP Law Firm, Head of the Insurance Practice, jointly with Alexey Polyakov, Head of Key Account Department, Insurance Broker of Sberbank, were speakers at the session. They spoke about cases of UAV attacks on various properties and response of the insurance market on similar cases, shared their experience on whether military and terrorist risk can be insured.
Sergey Viktorovich Romanovsky, Honorary Retired Judge of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, PhD in Law, Chairman of the Central District Territorial Panel of Arbitrators, was the honoured guest and speaker at the session. Since 2024, he has been heading the Panel Presidium of the Arbitration Center at the RUIE on Insurance Disputes. Sergey Viktorovich shared his opinion on the litigation practice related to insurance disputes amid existing SMO conditions and on potential alternative ways of solving insurance disputes.
